A Reverence for the Past
A Commitment to the Present
A Vision for the Future
Saint Mary of the Assumption Parish, Milford, Massachusetts is the second oldest and largest Roman Catholic Community in Central Massachusetts. The first Saint Mary of the Assumption Church was built in 1848. Among the notable parish resources are: the exquisite gothic church built from native Milford pink granite in 1870, the Saint Mary Cemetery begun in the 1830`s and the home of the only Irish Round Tower in the United States, the Saint Mary Parish House built in 1848 and the more contemporary Saint Mary Parish Center, which houses the many ministries and services offered through the Saint Mary of the Assumption Parish community.
In a world that has become more and more transient and disconnected, Saint Mary of the Assumption Parish has been an enduring source of stability, continuity and commitment to the Roman Catholic tradition for over one hundred and fifty years. For those raised in Milford it has been the custodian of our heritage with all its memories, stories and personal family events. For our many new families it has become a "home away from home", helping us keep in touch with what is most enduring in our own lives. Together we have enriched and strengthened one another.
